School Notes:
- Flagler College was established as a memorial to Henry M. Flagler. The Hotel Ponce de Leon, built by Mr. Flagler, serves as a reminder of his enterprise, diligence and commitment to high standards. Thus, the College is pledged to the preservation and use of this facility and the other historic and architecturally-unique campus structures.
- Since its founding in 1968, the College has spent more than $43 million dollars restoring the historic campus and adding new buildings. The two newest buildings are a multimillion-dollar auditorium, seating nearly 800, and the technologically-advanced Proctor Library. The campus is located in the heart of beautiful St. Augustine, just four miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Flagler's 19-acre athletic field is only two miles from campus.
- The principal focus of the College's academic program is undergraduate education in selected liberal and pre-professional studies; thus, the role of teaching is central to the College's mission. The purposes of the academic program are to provide opportunities for general and specialized learning; to assist students in preparing for careers; and to aid qualified students in pursuing graduate and professional studies.
- The college is accreditated by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
